"when it doubt, throw it out" . . . it's why anonymous remailers became
so popular in the first place; it's what alt.privacy.anon-server is all
about . . . best keep up and pay attention . . .it's a jungle out there

You got that right! It's ridiculous the nonsense I've been going
through for quite a while checking all my QSL files to see if
something has changed. Even though I update the pinger and smtp
stats every day, hardly anything gets through,

I've started to send five copies of a post lately instead of the
three copies I've always used in the past. I've also tried sending
the same post using a different port for each post.

I had a single success out of a bunch of posts today. It's the same
whether posting through my Win 7 or my Win XP computers.

I think there's something very wrong somewhere in the remailer
system. Christman made it simple as heck for the non tekkie poster.
I'm beginning to think the tekkies are screwing things up with their
"progressive" approach to remailer posting.

many groups. Test groups plus regular groups, including this one.

I'm amazed that my apa-s post got through. I'm trying it again.
Let's see if I get lucky again.

It seems that the results of a lot of tests over this week have
resulted in fleegle, port 2525 and neodome being a success in
posting. Those choices have worked for this thread. Let's see if they
work again for this post.

It's starting to look like your Internet provider is not allowing you to
send through port 25. And possibly also not allowing on port 587?

Happy you are having success with port 2525. Mail relay operators (like
me) permit port 2525 for precisely this reason.

Take a look at (and add it to your Favorites):

It will save you a lot of time and guess work.

I did think of asking that question as to whether my provider could
be the one causing my problems. I didn't know if that was possible.
As I said, I'm a total non-tekkie.

It was your page that helped me to do all my testing. I used it's
info to send test messages through each remailer with a different
port choice each time. It was a p.i.a. but it worked. I pretty much
would have been dead in the water without it. Thanks!

As to my provider, it's also what I use for my TV streaming. it's
been an extremely reliable service through the years. Even my modem
is theirs. In my old, old age, I don't need the hassle of trying to
make such a change.

Thanks again for your page. It did the job.
