In light of the recent departure of both The Tincture Pinger and The
Borked Pinger I thought I might launch a new pinger service.

Here is the Barnish (Classic) Pinger for Mixmaster & Cpunk
<https://barnish.org/echolot/>

And here is the Barnish YAMN Pinger
<https://barnish.org/yamn/>

Enjoy!

On the other hand https://echolot.virebent.art is well up and running.

This one doesn't seem to be working right with QS 127.

This is the report from QS 127

mlist.txt...Failed Error Check
The new 'mlist.txt' document appears invalid. I'm
unable to locate these statistics columns headings.
"mixmaster history latency uptime"
The document has been marked so you can't accidentally
save it. See Help
pubring.mix...Failed Error Check
The new 'pubring.mix' document appears invalid. The
values below should be greater than 0 AND equal.
0 Mixmaster key description lines
0 -----Begin Mix Key----- lines
0 -----End Mix Key----- lines
The document has been marked so you can't accidentally
save it.
rlist.txt...Failed Error Check
The new 'rlist.txt' document appears invalid. I'm
unable to locate these statistics column headings.
'remailer email address history latency uptime'
The document has been marked so you can't accidentally
save it. See Help
pubring.asc...Failed Error Check
The new 'pubring.asc' document appears invalid. The
values below should BOTH be greater than 0 AND equal.
0 -----BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK----- lines
0 -----END PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK----- lines
The document has been marked so you can't accidentally
save it.
Done!

...................

I think we've had this problem a few times in the past and it has to do
with where certain data is in the file for the older software.

For example barnish mlist

https://barnish.org/echolot/mlist.txt

Groups of remailers sharing a machine or operator:
(banana slow)
(frell frell2)

Broken type-I remailer chains:
(* senshi)
(frell *)
(senshi *)

Broken type-II remailer chains:

Last update: Sat 15 Feb 2025 06:10:00 GMT
mixmaster history latency uptime
--------------------------------------------
banana ******** 25:00 100.00%
dizum ************ 25:00 100.00%
frannie ************ 16:58 100.00%

middleman ****__.-**** 24:00 98.90%
paranoia **********++ 30:00 89.63%
slow _..__..._-- 41:19:30 79.41%

Mixmin mlist

https://www.mixmin.net/echolot/mlist.txt

There's no "Groups of remailers sharing..."

Broken type-I remailer chains:
(* senshi)
(frell *)
(senshi *)

Broken type-II remailer chains:

Last update: Sat 15 Feb 2025 06:25:01 GMT
mixmaster history latency uptime
--------------------------------------------
banana ******** 27:00 100.00%
binski ************ 22:00 100.00%
frannie ************ 16:59 100.00%
ipsum ************ 26:00 100.00%
shalo ************ 24:29 100.00%
dizum **+********* 29:30 99.55%
middleman #***__.-**** 25:00 98.33%
frell ++-------+-+ 5:09:00 98.12%
frell2 +----------+ 5:22:00 96.98%
paranoia ******+***** 28:00 93.47%
slow ....._...--- 28:46:00 77.34%

rlist.txt is sort of the same thing. Maybe unexpected $remailer data
before it gets to what it expects?

$remailer is at the very top instead of the bottom.

Thanks for all your support.

Thanks for your report on Barnish pinger and Quicksilver 1.2.7.

As you know. All of Richard's programs are abandonware. But the
program you are using - Quicksilver (QS) - is especially old.
Last updated in 2006.

Curious to know if any other pinger services are throwing these
errors at you. Or is it only Barnish.

Can confirm this, while clearnet works.
