I'm trying to learn how to post to USENET Newsgroups via an anonymous
remailer, and the docs are all a decade out of date. Does this kind of
thing still work?

I've sent five test mails by various routes. I'm trying one hop before
the posting server. The last went out about 10:00p local. It is now
nearly 7:00a.

I'm using the "Jessie" release of Debian Linux. I'm configured as a
desktop, so I don't have an MTA. Instead I compose and send with
*claws-mail* and use that to poll various mailboxes including
newsgroups. ... and I'd use *mixmaster* except it starts the *vim*
editor, and I can never figure out how to break out. (I'm an *emacs*
fanatic.) I wind up having to kill the whole terminal. ... and I've
looked at *premail* and conjured my own little *python* script based on

So far, nothing has showed up. Am I even on the right track with
this? Should the "Anon-post-to:" header be sent in the clear?

Absolutely.
Alrighty! The double colon line should appear before both the
Anon-to: and the Anon-post-to: headers, not after.
